RenderJuice opens free “Speed” Blender animation contest with a $5,000 prize pool

RenderJuice is inviting Blender artists to create a 5–30 second animation based on the theme Speed. Submissions open October 15, 2026 at 00:00 UTC and close October 31, 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

Artists can interpret the theme through a race, simulation, motion design piece, comedy, procedural animation, or another idea. Each entry must use Blender as its main creation tool and include a Blender work-in-progress image. Artists may render anywhere and retain ownership of their work.

The prize pool totals $5,000: $1,500 in cash and $3,500 in RenderJuice render credits across nine named awards. First, second, and third place recognize the strongest entries. Six specialty awards cover procedural work, simulation and effects, motion design, comedy, Community Choice, and a RenderJuice promo category. Judges may also grant render-credit honorable mentions outside the $5,000 pool.

Entry is free and requires no subscription or payment details. Entrants create a free RenderJuice account, join the contest Discord, and submit an MP4 or public video link with a short description and one Blender work-in-progress image. Each person or team may submit one animation.

RenderJuice judges the major and specialty awards with a published 100-point scorecard. Discord reactions determine Community Choice, with voting open through November 3, 2026 at 23:59 UTC.
